Unoaked wines are wines that at no time during their existence have had contact with oak barrels, that is, they have not fermented or matured in barrels. Unoaked wines are called the current vintage wines and are the first to reach the consumer.
Unoaked wines are wines that, by never having been in oak barrels, end up being more based on varietal or primary aromas. Their reduced maturing time preserves the fruity or floral profile that is distinctive of varietal wines.
Some examples of unoaked wines in our online shop are, in Douro, Folgasão, and in Alentejo, A Touriga Vai Nua and O Alfrocheiro Tb Quer Estar Nu.
