Wine ID is a winemaking consultancy company dedicated to supporting wine projects catered to the reality of each producer, taking into account their objectives, scale and ambition.
Wine ID was created in 2006 by three winemakers, António Maçanita, Cláudia Favinha, and Joana Maçanita. It is known in the market for its challenges to the status quo, with a huge respect for the history and tradition of the regions and the producers, but with an eye fixed on the modern world. Based on the scientific principles of oenology, strong viticulture and the practice of non-interventionist winemaking processes that respects the grape’s origin.
Also known for embracing challenges, the three partners bring together over four decades of experience and expertise from north to south of the country to create solid, rich, and charismatic wine production projects. They also bring with them the title of best winemaker of the year 2018 by Revista de Vinhos (António Maçanita) and nomination of Winemaker Revelation of the year 2019 by Revista de Vinhos (Joana Maçanita).
