Learn more about the Tourigas of Douro!
/>

Our Tourigas show the diversity of the Douro Terroir. Built in the same way, where gravity, selection and little intervening oenology are the basic principles of respect for the fruit and the sense of place.

Touriga Nacional Cima Corgo at altitude reflects the more elegant, perfumed and firm side of Touriga, while Touriga Nacional Letra A, close to the Douro River, at low altitude shows the power and aromatic concentration.

The Douro region is the oldest demarcated wine region in Portugal and in the world!

The demarcation of the Douro region in 1756 served to regulate the production of fortified wine, the famous Port wine. Currently, the production of wines in the Douro, covers the production of Port wine as well as the production of DOC wine - Denomination of Controlled Origin.

This region is divided into three sub-regions: Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo and Douro Superior, totaling 250 thousand hectares. This characteristic guarantees a wide variety of incredible terroirs, incorporating from schistose to granite soils, mountains and different solar exposures. Extending almost the entire width of Portugal, from the Atlantic coast to the Spanish border, the average temperatures vary greatly depending on the sub-region.
