Viosinho is a variety from old vines in the Douro, in this case from Baixo Corgo.
It is a white grape variety, with small bunches and berries, early ripening, very sensitive to powdery mildew and rot, preferring warm and sunny climates. It is a variety that does well in various types of soils and produces well-structured wines, which add attractive sensory characteristics, such as an intense floral character, but also exotic fruits and lots of minerality.
Given its low sensitivity to oxidation, the wines from this variety have good aging potential.
