Merlot is one of the most famous grape varieties for Bordeaux wines in France.
From the Cabernet Franca and Cabernet Sauvignon family, Merlot shares with them the ability to adapt to different climates and terroirs, but prefers the fresh climes as it is one of the most precocious grape varieties available.
Capable of maturing very easily, it produces wines with a dark, violet to ruby colour and high tannic extraction.
Merlot wines are thus a symbol of elegance and texture.
