Fitapreta Tinto is now Fitapreta O Iluminista!
Our Fitapreta Tinto 2022 now includes another ancestral grape variety, Moreto, with the minor varieties Trincadeira, Castelão, and Moreto making up 50% of the blend.
In 2007, we produced the first Fitapreta Tinto with the mission of creating a red wine following the original Alentejo formula, using only Alentejo grape varieties. The choice of Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet, and Trincadeira was obvious. However, over time, we discovered that old vines revealed other fresher and more elegant grape varieties that once dominated the region. Gradually, we began incorporating these, first Castelão and now Moreto, with more to come. This is our FITAPRETA... not ancestral, not contemporary, but ours – O ILUMINISTA.
