Tinto do Pote de Barro is a project from the Signature Series line that seeks to find the profile of an old “Talha wine” using
old-vines blend and the old amphora vinification process. It couldn't be called “Talha” because the commission didn't allow it and it couldn't even be “Alentejano” because the commission didn't like it. Thus, our rehersal stays like this, in the corner of the room, reduced to a worthy and humble Pote de Barro, well like Wine itself.
Ruby colored wine, medium concentration, nose with red fruits, some black pepper notes, chorus, cigarette box. In the
textured but tense, fresh and tannic. It is an Alentejo that once existed and at the same time an Alentejo destined to
to return.
Ideal for pairing with pot dishes with cheeks, stews.
The grapes are grown under a certified organic regime, in dry farming, without irrigation. Our vineyards are also all certified within the Alentejo's sustainability program.
Manual harvest at night in pallets of 350kg. Selection in selection table. Filling of the vat by gravity.
Spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in old Alentejo wine presses dating between 1906 and 1945. Post-fermentative maceration for 2 months.
Aged in clay amphoras for 90 days.
