ABOUT THE 2025 VINTAGE
PORTO SANTO
In Porto Santo, the 2025 harvest began on August 16th, with significantly lower productivity than in 2024. The quality of the grapes was exceptional, due to the low rainfall, which resulted in smaller and more concentrated berries. The grapes were selected, then pressed whole-bunch and fermented in horizontal stainless steel vats and in barrels, inside a refrigerated container. Fermentation was spontaneous and slow, lasting about three months, and the wines aged on fine lees until bottling, which took place in August.
ABOUT THE 2025 VINTAGE
MADEIRA
In Madeira, the harsher winter favored dormancy. Some grape varieties, such as Sercial, benefited in bud break and productivity. The Verdelho variety showed a slight decrease in production. This year we also started working with Folgasão (or Terrantez). It was a cool year, with little rain, later in the year, with good health and good acidity. Fermentations were spontaneous, quite slow, with some only finishing during the spring of 2026.
THE '25 WINES

Caracol dos Profetas 2025
The Caracol grape variety is an autochthonous variety from the island of Porto Santo, and is endangered. Currently, there are only about 10 hectares of this variety, exclusively on the island of Porto Santo. It has a very close genetic relationship with the Listrão variety, sharing almost half of its alleles, and is one of the island's traditional varieties. Both may have the same parent, or be parents of each other. Gaspar Frutuoso, in 1580, wrote: "there are many vineyards that produce good grapes; many white snails grow in them, in such a quantity that, in parts, they cover the bunch of grapes so much that no berry appears."

Caracol dos Profetas - Fazendas da Areia 2025
The name Fazendas da Areia refers to plots whose soils are made up of pure calcareous sands, from which grapes with a higher concentration profile and distinct expression come.
"Fazenda" is the term used locally to designate a place, a small property or a farm. "Areia" refers to the type of soil in these farms: calcareous sandstones resulting from the accumulation of sediments over millions of years, which give a very unique identity to the vineyards and their wines.

Listrão dos Profetas 2025
This Listrão dos Profetas comes from these old vines, over 80 years old, in what is our first attempt to interpret this unique terroir.
The Listrão variety (known as Palomino Fino in Jerez, Listán Blanco in the Canary Islands and Malvasia Rei on the mainland) is one of the most important varieties of the Iberian Peninsula, with the ability to give rise to both great fortified wines and white wines of enormous character. Its origin is southern, sharing a great genetic proximity with grape varieties from the Alentejo and Algarve regions.
title="Sercial dos Villões 2025" />
Sercial dos Villões 2025
The Sercial grape variety is part of the ancient grape varieties of Madeira Island, and even today it is the basis of the wines that made the island famous. Known for its high acidity, it has earned the nickname "Esgana-Cão" (Dog-Strangler), even outside Madeira. From a genetic point of view, it appears to be an ancient variety, being the progenitor of Cercial. This Sercial from Villões comes from the north coast of Madeira Island, in the Seixal area, and from the south coast, in Jardim da Serra.
