Joana and António Maçanita are siblings, winemakers and have been working together for 20 years. In 2006 they created WineID, a wine consultancy company, and since then they have worked side by side to help producers in different regions to create their wine projects. Until they found an unknown Douro and never left. Today, Maçanita Vinhos has a portfolio of 20 very different wines, where they seek to express the Douro in all its aspects.
"Love at first sight". This is how Joana describes what she felt when in 2010 the Maçanita brothers were invited to run a wine project for a family in the Douro. The interest in the region that followed this experience led Joana to challenge An-tónio to make a wine together in the Douro the following year.
