Vineyard blend of +17 grape varieties.
Canivéis is a group of plots located in the parish of Carlão where we find transitional soils from schist to granite. This vineyard shows a composition of over 17 grape varieties. The result is a unique wine that excites because of what remains to be explored in the Douro and because of the conservation and durability of this Douro which, despite being undervalued, is just as valuable to us!
Carlão, Cima Corgo. Vineyards between 80 and 92 years old at 510m altitude, with an average production of 1800kg/ha.
Plowing on horseback. Manual harvest for 18kg boxes. Partial destemming of the grapes combined with whole bunch maceration for 40 days. Aged for 18 months in neutral French oak barrels.
Light ruby-violet color, open, with notes of fresh fruit and dark chocolate. Creamy on the palate, with firm, long tannins.
12.5% Vol.
Store at 12ºC to be served at 16ºC and drunk at 18ºC.
Goes well with dark meats, Asian food and spicy cheeses.
