On this island, for over 500 years, vines have been planted in cracks in the volcanic rock, just 50m from the sea, where you can hear the “crab singing”. After the devastating attack of phylloxera and powdery mildew in the 19th century. XIX, the stubborn hand of Man maintained a small pocket of vines that resisted extinction.
This “Vinha Centenária” is from one of those vineyards over 100 years old that has resisted and remained the guardian of the exclusive grape varieties of the Azores and a witness to traditional vine growing.

Harvested by hand, selection at a sorting table, direct press, cold decanted for 12 hours, first presses vinified in stainless steel in a horizontal tank (70%), 2nd presses fermented in French oak barrels aged 3 years (30%), without lipstick for 15 months.
