Verdelho is an indigenous grape variety of the Azores, distinct from the "Verdelhos" of the mainland and shared with neighboring Madeira. This Verdelho is "the Original", the one from the islands, the one with the freshness, the salinity, the minerality and the unique perfume that made Verdelho be The Verdelho!
Fresh mineral and saline attack, has the matrix of the Azorean varieties and Terroir, but with a more exuberant aroma, more tropical, more Azorean pineapple and passion fruit, fresh fruit with acidity. It is not Verdelho-Gouveio, it is not Verdelho-Verdejo, it is Verdelho-Verdelho, the Original.
Fresh, very mineral and saline. Ideal partner for oysters, barnacles and bivalves. It also works with grilled fish, salads and fresh seafood.
Selective manual harvest in 20kg baskets, pressing of whole bunch, transfer after 12h. Spontaneous fermentation in 600-1000L horizontal tanks.
20% 8 months in barrels on fine lees.
Keep at 6ºC to be served at 10ºC, and to be drunk at 12ºC.
