100% Arinto dos Açores. Arinto dos Açores is an indigenous grape variety and exclusive islands of Azores, having in common with the Arinto mainland just the name and the good acidity.
An unique terroir in the world, in the middle Atlantic Ocean at the base of Pico volcanic mountain, the vineyards are planted in the crevices of rock, by the sea, where you hear the “Crab singing” as it is here that there is more sun and heat. A proximity to sometimes scarce meters from the sea, requiring the protection of the vines by walls (corrais), from the strong and salty winds of the Atlantic.
Citrus straw yellow color with grapefruit notes, some linden, almost honey. Aroma of the sea. Tense, fresh attack with thin bubble and a lot of salinity.
Selective manual harvest in baskets of 20Kg, whole bunch pressing, transfers after 24h to 600-50 fermentation vats -1000L. Method Foaming traditional with 12 months internship over dregs. Lot composition: 90% harvest of 2014 and 10% 2015 harvest.
Fresh, very mineral and saline. Partner ideal for oysters, barnacles and shellfish.
